What is Botox?

Botox is a non-surgical, physician-administered aesthetic treatment for moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Botox is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinium bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those persistent frown lines that have developed over time. Medical treatment with Botox is safe and easy. Results may require 7-10 days to take full effect, and may last for four to six months depending on the individual.
