On Mother's Day we celebrate those special women in our lives that have given us so much. On Sunday, May 14th, 2006 Shizuka New York Day Spa celebrates mothers and mothers-to-be with a variety of innovative maternity spa services and spa packages.

This year Shizuka New York Day Spa offers two mother's day spa packages that address the concerns of mothers of all ages. These may be purchased through Mother's Day (May 14 th ) and redeemed at any time. As always, gift certificates are available in the spa or by phone (212.644.7400) for redemption at a later date.

Mother's Day Lifting Package $225 ($300 value)
Awarded “Best Facial” in 2003 by New York Magazine, Shizuka New York Day Spa's Lifting Facial reaches beneath the surface of the skin to tone facial muscles, increase elasticity, and refine skin texture. This award-winning facial is combined with Wrinkle Buster, an FDA approved treatment that uses Light Emitting Diodes (LED) to stimulate collagen production and decrease the enzymes that break it down. This package also includes a Classic Manicure and Pedicure. Mom will definitely be feeling and looking rejuvenated after these treatments.

Mother's Day Massage Package $225 ($300 value)
Mom's body may be feeling tired and out of sorts lately and Shizuka New York Day Spa offers the perfect solution in this package. She will begin with a scrub that exfoliates her entire body using Mineral Salts and Japanese Rice Bran followed by a 90-Minute Deep Tissue Massage. After she is fully relaxed, she will receive a Classic Manicure and Pedicure leaving her refreshed, beautiful, and ready to conquer any challenges life may bring.

Mothers-to-be are faced with many new and unusual challenges. These can include special cravings, morning sickness, and even Pregnancy Acne. Acne is common among “expecting” women, especially as hormone levels rise and shift in the early stages of pregnancy. Shizuka New York Maternity Spa is proud to offer a series of treatments targeted specifically to the needs of these women. The Omedeta Maternity Spa Menu becomes a permanent part of our spa menu this Mother's Day.

Omedeta Maternity Spa Package (Including Facial and 60-Minute Massage) $275

Omedeta Maternity Facial, 1 hour, $180*
After extensive research, Shizuka New York Maternity Spa presents a new facial designed specifically for pregnant women. The ingredients and processes are carefully selected with the special needs and concerns of the expecting mother in mind. Using all natural products, and avoiding harmful additives such as Retin-A and Salicylic Acid, Shizuka New York Day Spa offers a facial that is gentle to both mother and child.

The Omedeta Maternity Facial combines Shizuka New York Day Spa's all-natural skincare system with innovative homemade products, including a gentle Rice Bran and Rose Hip exfoliating scrub and an Anti-Inflammatory Soothing Masque which harnesses the natural benefits of honey, lemon, chamomile, and even tofu!

This treatment is complete with light pore cleansing, massage, and a cup of Jasmine Tea (naturally caffeine-free). It is perfect when combined with the Omedeta Pregnancy Massage. In addition, all Omedeta Maternity treatments are performed on reclining chairs to ensure the comfort of the mother-to-be.

Shizuka New York Day Spa's talented massage therapists will cater each session to the specific needs of the woman using gentle and nurturing techniques. A specially designed cut-out pillow allows the pregnant woman to lie safely and comfortably on her stomach for lower back massage. The Omedeta Pregnancy Massage is great on its own or as a complement to the Omedeta Maternity Facial.
