Shizuka is a Finalist in FGI's Rising Star Awards

NEW YORK, New York - The Fashion Group International (FGI) held its 11th Annual Rising Star Awards on January 24th, 2008 in Rockefeller Center's Rainbow Room.
Shizuka Bernstein of the Shizuka New York Day Spa in NYC was honored for the second time as the creator of the Shizuka New York Skincare System in the sold-out ceremony. Charla Krupp, author of "How Not to Look Old," presented for the Beauty/Fragrance entrepreneur category and noted the following about Shizuka:
"The creation of Shizuka Bernstein’s original line of skin care products was driven by her belief that, when sensitively combined, natural ingredients can deliver effective and lasting anti-aging results. Green tea, soy, sake, and Mt. Fuji water are among the uniquely Japanese and restorative ingredients in Shizuka’s products. Shizuka’s Skin Care System is also at the center of her successful NY day spa practice located in the heart of Manhattan, near Rockefeller Center."
The event was sponsored by Cosmopolitan Magazine and Bebe. The keynote speaker was Cathie Black, president of Hearst magazines, who remarked, "Never take no for an answer. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. Walk like you know where you are going, and dress for the job that you want, not for the job that you have." Other categories included Accessories, Beauty/Fragrance Corporate, Home/Interior Design, Fine Jewelry, Men's Apparel, Retail, and Women's Apparel.
