Lauded as a “Skin Care Guru” by New York Magazine, master aesthetician Shizuka Bernstein has been bringing beauty and tranquility to Manhattan for over ten years.  Since opening Shizuka New York Day Spa in collaboration with dermatologist Robert M. Bernstein, M.D. her spa treatments, like her famous Geisha facials, have have gained notoriety in New York City, the United States and abroad.  Liz Krieger of Allure Magazine writes, "Her Micro Facial leaves skin radiant," and Juli B. of JuliB.com describes Shizuka as a "facial master aesthetician and magician."  Shizuka has been featured as a beauty expert in publications such as Marie Claire, Shape, and the New York Daily News, among others.

In 2005 Ms. Bernstein introduced her own original line of skin care products.  The Shizuka New York Skincare System was created using ingredients from around the world, including water from Mount Fuji, Sake, Green Tea, and Moroccan Lava Clay.  Shizuka’s spa products have garnered praise from beauty editors and clients alike and have been featured in Women’s Wear Daily, Zink, OK!, and in numerous Japanese publications including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, WWD, and Yahoo Japan.  Shizuka was recently honored as a finalist in the Beauty and Fragrance Entrepreneur category of the Fashion Group International's 10th Annual Rising Star Awards for her Skincare System.  In addition, SHIZUKA new york skin care products are now available for trial and purchase at the Marucollet Department Store in Tokyo.

In a new beautiful space created by prominent Japanese designer Fusayo Yokota, Shizuka combines the latest medical-grade equipment with traditional Japanese aesthetics to form a unique medical day spa featuring a full menu of services.  With extensive training in medical esthetics, electrology, Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) for hair removal, and Light Emitting Diodes (LED) for photo-facials, she offers a variety of skin care, hair removal and body treatments in addition to massage and nail services.  At SHIZUKA new york's NYC Day Spa, award-winning treatments and products are combined with a relaxing, “Zen” atmosphere, a warm and personal attention—and a Japanese flair.
